How to apply for TEMI Teacher of the Year:

Every January, TEMI will select and announce its Teacher of the Year. This is our way of giving recognition to one dedicated TEMI teacher for his/her passion and diligence. The awardee will have met the following requirements of superior teaching:

* An active TEMI Member
* Attended at least two or more TEMI seminars
* Holding a TEMI certificate
* Demonstrating strong ability to foster excellence in English education as evidenced by ongoing contributions to the improvement of student learning and the learning environment
* Making a difference in his/her community by teaching English, using TEMI methods and ideology through positive learning experiences and activities for the students
* Demonstrating a strong commitment in creating a climate of caring and respect conducive to effective teaching and learning

Award Components:

* TEMI Teacher of the Year Certificate
* Announcements on TEMI website, TEMI Enewsletter, TEMI Facebook and Little America website
* Press releases to local newspapers in awardee’s town/city (We can not guarantee the media will contact the awardee.)
* 10,000 yen credit coupon for Little America Mail Order
* Letter of Appreciation and Recognition for awardee’s school

Help your adult students move forward with the English they have and the English you will teach them. Instill in them the confidence to connect with others in English.

This ZOOM seminar, which you may attend from the comfort of your homes, will be taking place for two mornings.

Rika Kubota, a TEMI MASTER TEACHER who is affectionately addressed as LUCY-sensei by her students, is the recipient of TEMI’s Teacher of the Year award for 2020. TEMI’s 7th Online Conference on “Zero Tolerance for Japanese in Class” has been rescheduled to November 17th

The conference which was originally scheduled on October 6th was postponed due to technical problems.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the sudden rescheduling.

As many of our TEMI teachers often ask for suggestions on how to curtail the use of Japanese in their preschool and elementary school classes, Helene Uchida will give pointers on how to teach English classes with zero tolerance for Japanese. We are certain some of her methods/rules will work for you and hope you can join us as this is a special presentation.
